Barley brown bread, which will feed thousands of people. Dante's Canzonere and Giotto's Frescoes
The Winter Palace of Peter I
Begins at 18.30
17 February 2012

The State Hermitage Museum presents its new program, Language of an Era. Images and Words. This program attempts to imaginatively and stylistically compare poetry and fine art. The comparison is more by association than direct. Like literature, all types of fine art have their own specific language in which they "speak".
Art historians (Hermitage employees) will reveal the features of the "language" of works of fine art from specific periods. At the meetings, old literature from the period shall be read out in the original language and in Russian, together with a commentary from experts on the features of their style of language.
Alla Kamchatova from the State Hermitage Museum will talk about the great works of art.

Tickets can be bought from the Winter Palace of Peter I ticket office
on the day of the event.
Tickets cost 350 roubles
