Gathering of participants in the Main Entrance Hall of the Winter Palace
Beginning at 5.45 pm

The Hermitage offers a special program for lovers of painting and music - meetings with masterpieces of the museum in the halls of the State Hermitage. Sitting in comfortable armchairs in front of the famous picture, You will hear the story about it by specialist-historian of art and music of that epoch, when the picture was done, imbued with the same moods, thoughts and feelings which are peculiar for picturesque masterpiece. Meetings are attended by art critics and soloists of the State Hermitage Orchestra.
The first evening of this year is devoted to Caravaggio and his famous painting "The Lute Player". Fine art expert, employee of the State Hermitage Museum Alla Vladimirovna Kamchatova will tell about the masterpiece of the great master. In the evening you will hear Italian lute music played by the Ensemble of Soloists of the State Hermitage Orchestra.
