The book explores the history of monetary reforms carried out by the
dynasty of Tudors in England in the 16th - early 17th centuries. This
theme has never been specially addressed outside Russia; there is no single
research published about the monetary reforms of the Tudors. This book
examines causes of these reforms, describes changes in Englands
monetary system in the 16th-17th centuries and analyzes their results.
The research is based on various written sources and numismatic data.
The author is Marina Viktorovna Mukha, one of the leading specialists
in West European numismatics. Her principal field of research is history
and monetary circulation of medieval England. She is a unique specialist
in this field in Russia.
