The Hermitage Russian Style Program, sponsored by the Russian President’s Department of Affairs, issued the fundamental book "The Hermitage: Great Collection of a Great Museum", authored by Prof. Dr. Mikhail B. Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation, and Dr. Oleg Ya. Neverov, Custodian of the Hermitage Collection of Ancient Carved Gems. The book presents the history of the Hermitage and its collections from the age of its founder Catherine the Great to the present time.

This 350-page book includes 400 full-color illustrations and is published in several languages.
