This monograph by A.Y.Alexeyev, head of the Department of Archaeology of Eastern Europe and Siberia and doctor of historical science, is devoted to the ancient history of the Scythians from their appearance in Eastern Europe in the 7th century B.C. to the end of Greater Scythia at the turn of the 3rd century B.C. The book provides a chronicle of the Scythian “royal” burial mounds and explains the principles of dating by giving some examples of Scythian monuments. It also has a chronology of the “royal” burial mounds from the 5th and 4th centuries B.C.and a list of Scythian tsars and dynasties from the 7th to 4th centuries B.C.
