Compilers: I.I. Vydrin, V.P. Tretyakov. St Petersburg, 2005. Sad Iskusstv Publishing House

This collection comprises the first two volumes of a series devoted to the literary and epistolary heritage of S.P. Yaremich planned by the Sad Iskusstv Publishing House.

The overwhelming majority of materials in the first volume are being published for the first time. These are appreciations and reminiscences of contemporaries set out in chronological order so that the reader can trace the life's work of Yaremich, as well as his articles about Benois, Chistiakov, Somov, Roerich, Serov, Zamirailo, Dobuzhinsky and Kruglikova - all based on his personal recollections.

The second volume is devoted to Yaremich's investigations into the artwork of Vrubel. This theme was one of the most important for Yaremich over the course of his entire life, from his first notes about Vrubel for the magazine World of Art (Mir iskusstva) to the assistance he gave the artist's sister to publish his letters in 1929. The volume includes the full text of his 1911 monograph, a number of articles and Yaremich's correspondence with I.E. Grabar and others during his work on the book.

A planned third volume will present S.P. Yaremich's correspondence with A.N. Benois which lasted with variable intensity for some 30 years.
