The Greek Gold from the Black Sea North Littoral featured at the exhibition is but a small part of an enormous collection accumulated through almost two centuries of excavations at the Ancient Greek cities on the Black Sea.

The evolution of style and technology in Ancient Greek jewellery is easily traced through a variety of precious items spanning some three hundred years - from the 6th-century burial complexes of Olvia, the Taman peninsula and Kerch to the unrivaled masterpieces of the 4th century B.C. These include treasures from the Kul-Oba mound, the fabulous Theodosian earrings, and the world-famous golden ornaments of a Greek priestess from the mounds at Bolshaya Bliznitsa
