Novozhilov Imperial Porcelain Factory and Glassworks Crystal glass, polished and engraved This bowl has the traditional shape of a chalice and is decorated with engraved ornament framing oval "cameos" made of green glass. In the 1910s the Imperial Porcelain Factory and Glassworks produced articles of clear crystal glass with engraving in the Russian style to commissions from the imperial family: vases bearing a double-headed eagle, icon-lamps and church chandeliers, altar and pectoral crosses, and Gospel settings. Among those involved in designing this glassware was the artist Adam Voitkevich, whose designs were also used for a large number of porcelain items. |
