Griffin Pendant

Staraya Ladoga

This pendant depicts a griffin with the tail turned towards the back. There is a hole in the tail from which it would have been suspended. The pendant is typical of female jewellery belonging to the Russian and Finnish population.

It was excavated in a settlement near Staraya Ladoga in 1910.
