Kara-Depe Settlement

This seated nude woman has round pellets of clay to form the square shoulders, the arms are mere stumps and the legs simply indicated by a line. The head has a bird-like shape and the eyes are indicated by slight depressions. These elements of modelling show the influence of sculpture from ancient Mesopotamia.
