Workshops of the Moscow Kremlin

Decorated with enamel and precious stones, this small korchik, fashioned from garnet and set in gold, gives an idea of the great skill of goldsmiths working in the Gold Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin. Such multicoloured and sumptuous design was typical of their work and the Kremlin workshops were a major centre for the production of such jewellery and metalwork.
