Late 17th century

Silver, filigree, painted enamel

H 4.9 cm, diam 14.8 cm

Solvychegodsk

This small cup is covered inside with multicoloured enamel decoration on a ground of white enamel. Large flowers and leaves surround a bird with raised wings. This cup is a typical example of Usolye articles, traditionally thought to have originated from Solvychegodsk.
