The service belonged to Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, on whose initiative the Imperial Porcelain Factory was established in St. Petersburg in 1744. The surface of the pieces are decorated with network relief pattern with small lilac flowers. The elegant oval sugar basin and salt-cellar are both decorated with two garlands of roses.
