Porcelain

This unique two-metre vase, its body of perfect proportions, was created in honour of the Russian Army's victory over Napoleon in the Patriotic War of 1812. It is decorated with gilt relief in the Neoclassical style. On one side is a composition of military attributes and the globe, and the inscription "Russia." The other side shows a portrait of Alexander I. The vase formed part of the decoration of one of the state rooms in the Winter Palace.
