Such icons were placed on the lectern during the feasts depicted on them. Despite the small size of the icon, the figures are just as majestic as if this were Andrey Rublyov's famous icon of The Annunciation in the Moscow Kremlin. The purity of colouring and refined lines also reveal the influence of the Moscow School.
