Token of the Blue Cross society

Gilded silver with enamel

The token has a diamond shape and bears a blue cross and the inscription "BLUE CROSS SOCIETY". The diamond is crowned by a fireman's helmet. This piece was produced by the Faberge company and comes from Nicholas II's numismatic collection.
It was intended for those who made donations to the Blue Cross Society, founded in 1897 and alternatively known as the All-Russian Society of the Mutual Assistance of Firefighters. The society aimed to provide financial assistance to firefighters and their families in the event of death or disability.
The token bears the mark of the maker (the craftsman) and another with the initials of the assayer Yakov Liapunov
