Token of the Cavalier Guards Regiment commemorating 25 years of its colonel-in-chief

Alfred Thielemann's studio, the Faberge company

Gold, silver and enamel

This token was approved on 2 March 1906. It has the shape of the regimental badge, in the form of a red and white flag, with the monogram MF superimposed. The composition is crowned by the double-headed eagle. The Roman figures XXV appear on the reverse. The badge was created to mark the 25th anniversary of the Empress Dowager Maria Fiodorovna becoming the regimental colonel-in-chief. The token bears the marks of the craftsman and the assay mark 56. The token is in its original case with the Faberge company mark, with a double-headed eagle as supplier to the court, and the inscription "Saint Petersburg, Moscow, London".
