5 December, 2003 - 9 December, 2003

The Hermitage Days are traditionally accompanied by an exhibition displayed in the theater foyer, which offers a report on the museum's research and exhibition activities during the previous festive year. Academic books, abstracts of presentations made at conferences and readings in the Hermitage, and catalogues of exhibitions displayed in the Hermitage and other Russian and foreign museums are showed.

The fundamental catalogue of the year's central exhibition Founder of St. Petersburg devoted to Peter the Great has been written by a team of scholars and published by Slaviya. The book contains 440 pages and 600 full-color illustrations. Many of the exhibits it publishes have never been displayed before.
