The photo was published in the journal War Chronicle
1914-1915 (1915), which also published a short commentary on the
Field Hospital in the Winter Palace.
"Thus the Nicholas Hall accommodated 200 cots, which
were placed in straight lines in 3 rows perpendicular to the Neva. Here
there were those wounded with head injuries (scull, eyes, ears, jaws);
also those wounded in the throat and thorax. There were also soldiers
