2011: Mikhail Lomonosov and the time of Elizabeth I exhibition
November 2011 marked the 300th anniversary of the birth of the leading
Russian scientist and encyclopaedist Mikhail Lomonosov. A major exhibition
was organised in the Winter Palace state rooms which contained more than
seven hundred exhibits from the State Hermitage collection, as well as
a number of unique documents from other Petersburg museums, archives and
libraries.
