On 11 October 1945 the unloading of two trains that had arrived from
Sverdlovsk began
"A check of the crates showed that the quantity, codes and numbers
accorded completely with the lists of crates removed from the Hermitage
in 1941 on the first and second trains.
On 14 October the hanging of Rembrandt’s paintings began."
