Peter Paul Rubens Oil on panel Galouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon This portrait came into the Hermitage collection in 1779 as part of the collection of Sir Robert Walpole. Helena Fourment was the artist's second wife. Rubens married her in 1630, when she was only 16. She inspired him to produce many works, often posing for them. |
