Meetings with students are attended by renowned representatives of the
art intelligentsia, public figures and museum staff. The Youth Educational
Center hosts international festivals devoted to the history and traditions
of various countries.
Program "Festival of World Culture at the Youth Educational Center"
The program introduces students studying in St Petersburg to the culture,
history and traditions of peoples of the world and forms a holistic concept
of countries, and through meetings, video demonstrations and master classes
enables the creation of an atmosphere of national identity.
Program "Hermitage-Hermitagers. Unexpected perspective"
The program's goal is to introduce St Petersburg youth to various aspects
of the life of the Hermitage, one of the world's largest museums. Meetings
and talks with staff significantly deepen the students' knowledge of the
nature of museum work, and the staff's enthusiasm for this work, talents
and knowledge help build an image of the Hermitage among youth as the
center of contemporary cultural life.
Program "VIP guests of the Youth Educational Center"
Students have an opportunity to meet "very important guests"
of the Youth Educational Center - famous cultural figures, representatives
of St Petersburg intelligentsia, exhibition curators and organizers, foreign
experts in arts and diplomats working in St Petersburg. Sometimes an invited
guest can meet students not only at the Hermitage but elsewhere, for example,
in his/her studio.
