Marina Koldobskaya painting
"Hunting and Gathering"
February 21st - 26th, 2012

People invent new tools, come up with new rules, and chant new spells.
But there are things that don't change.
The instincts that our lives depend on: catch, take, eat.
And the fears: they'll catch me, take me, eat me.
Desires that torture us: to beg or compel. Let them give, receive, teach, release.
Moments that make life bearable: they listened to me, it was found, it worked out.
Moments that make life happy: I could do it myself. I gave, received, taught, released.
We are still hunters and gatherers.

Marina Koldobskaya
