  • The project for preparing volunteers to work in the State Hermitage assumes that they pass through a period of practical work in one of the following areas:
      a) Language practice
      b) Pedagogical practice in the Ropsha General Education School
      c) Foundations of museum and library work
      d) Social work
      e) Development of organizational capabilities

  • The multi-faceted Ropsha Project has as its main task to draw attention to the problem of preserving a world heritage monument (the Palace and Park Ensemble in Ropsha). It involves assisting in its restoration and comprises the following areas of activity:
      a) Studying the history of the ensemble and gathering information for creating a unified archive
      b) Developing projects helping to attract the attention of various state and commercial organizations with a view to further cooperation
      c) Holding competitions of children's artwork and developing international educational programs
      d) Work on the creation of a Christmas Tree Museum, organization of exhibitions and events devoted to Ropsha and its past owners
  • Cooperation with international volunteer organizations such as: UNV - United Nations Volunteers (an institution of the UN dealing with issues of the volunteer movement), EVS - European Volunteer Service, and Concordia, as well as with museums having experience in working with volunteers.

  • Arranging internships and practical experience in museums for both Russian and foreign volunteers. Exchange of trainees with educational institutions and cultural centers in Russia and abroad.

  • Attract young specialists in the field of IT for development and implementation of multimedia and web projects.
