The Renoir Room is one of the rooms of the second floor of the Winter Palace where the courtiers' apartments were originally situated. The room houses paintings by the famous French artist Pierre Auguste Renoir (1841-1919). The Hermitage collection of works by this master amounts to six canvases and apart from one landscape consists of his Impressionistic portraits. The visitor of the museum has an opportunity to see such well-known canvases as Portrait of the Actress Jeanne Samary (1878), Girl with a Fan (1881)and Child with a Whip (1885). The exhibition also includes Eugène Boudin's landscape The Beach in Trouville (1893) and works by Henri Fantin-Latour and Jean-Louis Forain.
