This is one of the second-floor rooms of the Winter Palace originally occupied by flats of the courtiers. The room houses the Hermitage collection of pictures by the famous French artist Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). It consists of fifteen works painted by the artist on Tahiti Island. The visitor can enjoy such world-famous paintings as Conversation (1891), Woman Holding a Fruit and Tahitian Pastorals (both 1893), Miraculous Source (1894), The Idol (1898) and Sunflowers (1901).
