The room occupies a part of the former apartments of
the ladies-in-waiting. The exhibition features works by the artists
from Germany, the USA, Mexico, Brasil and Italy. The German School
is represented by the paintings by Heinrich Campedonk, Werner Scholz,
Heinrich Ehmsen and Hans Grundig. In 1964 Rockwell Kent, a well-known
American painter, presented to the State Hermitage Museum a number
of his landscapes created in the early 20th century. The canvases
by Alfred Henry Maurer and James Wilson Morrice represent the art
of the USA and Canada. The centre of the room is occupied with The
Still Life with a Water-Melon (1976-77) presented to the State Hermitage
Museum by the Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Another gift to the
Museum is the sculpture Falling Tebe (1983) by Giacomo Manzu. |
