1915 Giuseppe Bessi Height 48 cm Marble Giuseppe Bessi was one of the most prominent Italian exponents of Salon sculpture. His works were very popular at the beginning of the 20th century. This depiction of a young girl in a laurel wreath embodying music is among the sculptor's finest works and he repeated it several times. The work in the Hermitage collection is one of those signed replicas. |
