Polychrome underglaze painting was developed at the Royal Porcelain Factory in Copenhagen and demonstrated at the 1889 World Fair in Paris. Between 1892 and 1894, under the guidance of the leading Danish specialists Lijsberg and Mortensen, the artists of the Imperial Porcelain Factory began to work in this technique. The painted decoration of this vase was devised and executed by the artist Nikolai Daladughin (1875-1940). |
