This room of the Treasure Gallery presents pieces of
jewellery from the 18th to 20th century. Particularly notable among
the works of German goldsmiths is a toilet set that belonged to Empress
Anna Ioannovna. The St Petersburg school of the late 18th and early
19th centuries is famous for the works of Jean-Pierre Ador, Jean-Jacques
Duc, the Duvals, Théremins and Keibels. There is an interesting
collection of clocks and snuffboxes made by English, French, Russian
and Swiss craftsmen. The works of Lalique and Fabergé represent
the achievements of jewellers in the later 19th and early 20th centuries.
The models of the imperial regalia that Faberge created won the Grand
Prix at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. |
