The Boudoir was part of the apartments of Empress Maria
Alexandrovna, the wife of Alexander II. The elegant decor was created
in 1853 by the architect Harald Bosse, a virtuoso of interior design
in the "Second Rococo" style. The bright colour of the brocatelle
(silk fabric with metal thread), the exquisite lines of the ornament
and soft gilded furniture create an impression of refinement and comfort.
The splendid ormolu chandelier that is reflected in the mirrors completes
this striking interior. |
