The Study cum Schoolroom of the future Emperor Alexander II was restored by Alexander Briullov after the 1837 fire to the same appearance as Giacomo Quarenghi created it for Alexander I. The display here features the tapestries Hector Reproaching Paris, The Triumph of Cupid and Aurora woven at the St Petersburg Tapestry Factory. The throne of Paul I and the bishop's arm-chair come from the Chapel of the Maltese Order. The display-cases contain items from services produced for receptions given in the Winter Palace in honour of holders of Russia's highest orders - St George the Bringer of Victory, St Alexander Nevsky, St Andrew the First-Called and St Vladimir.
