The exhibition of "Unknown Masterpieces" includes
a large number of works by the celebrated Impressionists Claude Monet,
Auguste Renoir and Camille Pissarro. Among the six Monets is The
Grand Quai at Le Havre, painted in the period before the first
Impressionist exhibition in 1874. One of the most famous canvases
by Renoir - In the Garden from 1885 - is among the collection
of 14 works by the master. As well as four landscapes by Pissarro,
the exhibition also includes his Still Life with Coffeepot.
Of particular interest is the Portrait of Isabelle Lemonnier,
the only painting in the Hermitage by Edouard Manet. |
