This part of the Western Gallery of the Small Hermitage is used to house an exhibition of Western European decorative and applied art of the 12th to 15th century. On display is a large collection of Limoges champlevé enamels, Hispano-Moorish faience, metal and ivory articles, as well as artistic woodcarvings. Particularly noteworthy are the mid-14th-century Fortuni Vase, decorated with Eastern ornament, a reliquary casket bearing scenes from the life of St Valeria, a typical product of the mediaeval workshops of Limoges and a late 15th-century German tapestry of The Apostles Thomas and Matthew, one of the earliest in the Hermitage collection.
