The décor of this room in the New Hermitage borrows motifs from Renaissance art. On display here are two of the Hermitage's masterpieces - Rapahel's Conestabile Madonna (1504) and Holy Family (1505-06). The room also contains works by other Italian artists of the 15th and 16th centuries, including Raphael's pupils. The sculpture of A Dead Boy on a Dolphin is attributed to Lorenzo Lorenzetti, while the cartoon for a tapestry depicting a procession with bulls and elephants was made by Giulio Romano. On display too are pieces of majolica, the tapestry Apollo and Signs of the Zodiac and fine furniture.
