This hall in the New Hermitage was intended for the numismatic collection, something that found reflection in its décor: the walls bear relief profiles of famous medallists and scenes on subjects from the Ancient World by Josef Hermann (from models by David Jensen, Konstantin Klein and Johann Reymers). The interior is notable for its refined colour scheme founded on a combination of grey granite and the golden hue of the artificial marble, the white of the plaster sculpture and an abundance of gilded details. The hall is adorned by vases and torcheres made from semiprecious stone at the Yekaterinburg Lapidary Works in the first half of the 19th century.
