This room contains paintings by the French Impressionist artist Auguste Renoir (1841-1919). The Hermitage has a collection of six Renoirs, all, with the exception of one landscape, portraits from the Impressionist era. Among the most famous are the portrait of the actress Jeanne Samary, Girl with a Fan and Child with a Whip (1885). The display here also includes a landscape by Eugène Boudin - The Beach at Trouville, two works by Henri Fantin-Latour - Roses and Nasturtiums in a Vase and Naiad, and also Pierre Puvis de Chavannes's Woman on the Seashore.
