This room presents the decorative and applied art of China. The display includes part of one of the world's richest collections (around 250 items) of Chinese cloisonné enamels from the 15th to 20th century. The vase for a game of arrows is a rare example of 15th-century enamels. Among the carved red lacquer articles dating from the 14th to 20th century there is a masterpiece in the form of a temple table made by the Chinese imperial workshop.
The display further includes exhibits from a large collection (around 4,000 items) of Chinese porcelain. Outstanding among the 16th-century ceramics decorated with cobalt paint is a guan vessel bearing a depiction of Shou Xing, the god of longevity.
