The display here presents artefacts from Bezeklik, the court monastery of the Uighur rulers whose state existed in Central Asia from the 8th century to the 12th. The subjects of the murals come from Buddhist legends and the "Sutra of True Deeds" that tells of the earthly life of Buddha Sakyamuni. The masterpiece of the exhibition is a rare and uniquely virtuoso execution of a Pranidhi (Vow) composition commissioned by a donor who hoped to attain enlightenment by following Buddha's Teaching. The display-cases contain statues of Buddha and sculpted heads of Bodhisattvas.
