This room displays a part of the world's finest collection of Iranian silver dishes and vessels from the era of the Sassanid dynasty that were found in ancient hoards in the Russian North. The masterpieces of the collection are two dishes bearing scenes of the royal hunt: Shapur II Hunting Lions and Bahram Gur and Azadeh showing a legendary episode from a gazelle hunt of King Bahram Gur. The display is completed by coins minted under the Sassanid kings and part of a very rich collection of Sassanid carved stones that served as seals and amulets.
