New Premises of the Press Center On 14 January 2004 the new premises of the Press Center of the State Hermitage prepared during 2003 were presented to the public. The official address is 30, Dvortsovaya Embankment, apartment 3. The Press Service of the State Hermitage was formed in 1996. Initially it was a section within the Hospitality Department, but in 1999 it was separated out as a self-standing unit of the museum. Among the tasks of the Press Service are publicizing the museum’s exhibitions and development plans, organizing and holding press conferences, preparing and publishing the annual report and the journal The Hermitage. Repairs to the premises were carried out by the company ¾¾¾ "Betakom", whose General Director is P.V. Kavliugin. Air conditioning was installed by the company ZAO"Klimat Prof". The new Press Center will not only provide working space to its staff, but also has facilities for holding briefings, working meetings and press conferences in-house. The premises are equipped to enable journalists efficiently to prepare and dispatch materials to their publications without ever leaving the Press Center. Our sponsors have provided equipment and media support for the museum’s work. Samsung Electronics, which has been a Corporate Member of the Club of Friends of the Hermitage since 1997, has lent a hand with technical equipment for the new Press Center. The Press Center now has the latest Samsung products in the field of computers, television and audio equipment. During St Petersburg’s tricentenary year 2003, the company NIKOLAEV e:Consulting™ was designated as the “Official Supplier of IT Services to the State Hermitage". This company now looks after IT work at the Press Center. Hermitage specialists have thereby been enabled to find whatever information they need from Russian sources, and also from sources in the USA, the countries of Europe, Asia, and Australia. All necessary information is supplied from 20,000 information sources throughout the world.
