International Advisory Board

On 26 - 27 August, 2005 the eleventh annual meeting of the International Advisory Board of the State Hermitage Museum took place in the Hermitage. This year the meeting was attended by Neil MacGregor, Director of the National Gallery in London; Edmund P. Pillsbury; Reinhold Baumstark, Director of Bayerische Staatsgemaldesammlungen; Irene Bizot, Ancien Administrateur general of Reunion des Musees Nationaux; Mounir Bouchenaki, Assistant Director-General for Culture, UNESCO; Ronald de Leeuw, Director of Rijksmuseum and Henri Loyrette, President-Director of Musee du Louvre. As usual, themes for discussion were introduced by Director of the State Hermitage Museum Prof. Mikhail Piotrovsky.

The culture program organized for the Board members included visits to the Derzhavin Mansion Museum and the newly-restored Mineralogical Study of the Stroganoff Palace.
