Visitor to the Hermitage

On 18 April 2005 an internet chat with Nina Vitalievna Silantieva, director of the State Hermitage’s Hospitality Service , took place in the museum’s Cafemax. The Hospitality Service is the first department of its kind in a Russian museum and has the priority task of creating pleasant conditions for museum visitors, as well as preparing and distributing information about current events such as exhibitions, concerts, festivals and holidays.

The interview was arranged within the project called Starchat.ru: Chat with a Star. The subjects touched upon included improving the conditions for receiving visitors in the Hermitage, creating rest areas for visitors, special programs planned for veterans to mark the 60th anniversary of the Victory in WWII, and also visitor information (floor plans, booklets, information on the museum hours, new exhibitions and branches of the Hermitage).
