On 8 September 2005 a presentation of Yu. Z. Kantor’s book The War and Peace of Mikhail Tukhachevsky (Vremya Publishing House, Moscow) was made at the 8th Moscow International Book Fair. Kantor is a lead researcher in the State Hermitage.

The book is based on previously unknown archive materials which the author found and studied in Russian archives, including the Central Archive of the FSB of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Military History Archive, the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Samara Oblast State Archive of Socio-Political History, and in German archives, including the Federal Archive of Koblenz, the Bavarian Military Historical Archive, and Federal Archive of Freiburg. Most of the documents are published for the first time.
Among the participants in the presentation were Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, the great-nephew of Marshal Mikhail Tukhachevsky .N.A.. Tukhachevsky, the commander’s daughter Ieronima Uborevicha, and the author of the monograph, Yu:Z. Kantor
