Presenting the works of Marina Koldobskaya entitled Agitfarfor-2 and the Master Class How to Spoil the China

On 19 March 2005 the Youth Center of the State Hermitage hosted a presentation of Marina Koldobskaya's works entitled Agitfarfor-2 and her Master Class How to Spoil the China. The events come within the framework of the educational program on Modern Art in Petrograd, Leningrad, Petersburg. The 20th Century which is run by S.V. Kudryavtseva, director of the State Hermitage Youth Center and doctor of art history.

Marina Koldobskaya is an artist, curator, and director of the State Center of Modern Art in Petersburg. She is an organizer and participant in numerous art exhibitions. She works in the fields of painting, objects and installations.

Koldobskaya has been working on the AGITFARFOR project since 1999. This entails applying designs to finished ceramics using markers and presents a parody of "serious" industrial technology while at the same time achieving interesting graphical, painterly and textural effects. The playful nature of the painting steers clear of folk, archaic and children's work. It parodies the pathos of Soviet propaganda porcelain (Agitfarfor).
