The Hermitage Italy Centre in Ferrara

On 4 October 2006, the State Hermitage issued the following press communiqué:

Dopo lunga e approfondita riflessione lo State Hermitage Museum ha deciso di scegliere per la sede di Ermitage Italia la proposta della Città di Ferrara.

Lo State Hermitage Museum ringrazia le altre Citttà che hanno voluto candidarsi ed in particolare Mantova e Verona con cui spera di poter intrattenere nel futuro positive ed importanti relazioni di collaborazione.

Following lengthy and in-depth study of various proposals that were received, the State Hermitage has decided to select the city of Ferrara as the site for the Hermitage Italy Centre.

The State Hermitage expresses its appreciation to other cities, in particular to Mantua and Verona, which put forward projects for organizing the Centre, and it looks forward to fruitful cooperation with them in the future.
