Football in the Youth Educational Center of the State Hermitage In the Hermitage's Youth Educational Center, there is a presentation of works by photographers of the largest French agency Magnum Photos devoted to the world's most popular sport - football. The exhibition entitled Planet Football which opened on 16 May has received support from the Goethe House German Cultural Center and was organized within the context of the Creative Photography program. The show features 52 large-format photographs by well known maitres such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Rene Bourry as well as by representatives of the middle-aged and younger generations such as Abbas and Martin Parras. The focus of the exhibition is on the ball which unites and inspires people around the world irregardless of age, national origin or social status. The game delights people of all continents to the point where they forget their all their cares. This is the very unique quality of the football phenomenon, which knows no national or cultural boundaries. The splendid creations of well-known artists of photography compel us to reflect as well on topics surrounding football: friendship and justice, commercialization and religion...In the framework of the program there will be a screening of short films.
