Motor race - State Hermitage, St Petersburg to the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow

On 20 July 2007 a motor race began from the Main Gates of the Winter Palace on Palace Square in St Petersburg and left for Moscow, joining together two cities and two museums, the Hermitage and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, where exhibitions of American art are currently being held.

The State Hermitage is the venue for the current exhibition on Dennis Hopper in the Hermitage, while Moscow’s Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts has opened an exhibition entitled 300 Years of American Art. Among the participants in the motor event were the actor, artist and film director Dennis Hopper; the actor Jeremy Irons, Thomas Krentz, director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation; as well as the artist and celebrity Sergei Bugaev-Africa.

On 23 July the motor race finished in Moscow in front of the Museum of Fine Arts. The promotional event coincided with the two hundredth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the USA.
