Thomas Werner at the State Hermitage
Museum Youth Centre As part of the programme for the USA Today exhibition, the Youth Centre introduced locals to the American photographer Thomas Werner. Students, and all those interested in photographic art, on Friday 23 November 2007, attended an entertaining lecture about contemporary American photography, at the end of which they received an assignment to take a series of thematically original photographs. On Sunday, 25 November 2007, Thomas Werner checked the homework and commented on the work. So many people wanted to hear the famous photographer from New York that the lecture hall was overcrowded. Thomas Werner is an instructor at Parsons School of Design, owns an art gallery and is the director of the American Society of Media Photographers. His work is displayed in galleries around the world, and is included in many private and corporate collections. |
